Shoppers can expect high quality handmade goods that reflect the unique & often quirky aesthetic of Art Star. Art Star has hand selected a diverse collection of artists that create anything & everything, including housewares, paper goods, dolls, prints, ceramics, clothing, accessories, paintings/drawings, sculpture, and many other one-of-a-kind curiosities. All items have been handmade from a variety of mediums that include fabric, clay, glass, wood, paper & much more.

The event will also include Live Music by local Philly bands presented by Philebrity, as well as tasty vegetarian/vegan friendly food by A Full Plate Cafe, Soy Cafe & Sweetbox Cupcakes. There will also be the following family friendly interactive art demonstrations:

The Philadelphia Sculpture Gym will present interactive demonstrations in clay sculpting & mold making. Come sculpt an object out of clay and/or try out a simple press mold and casting.

The Clay Studio

NLArts (Saturday Only) will host an “art making table” featuring a recycled flower design, bugs, and games. Kids of all ages are welcome to join us.

Candy Depew (the CandyCoated Center, Sunday Only) will be doing live screen printing demonstrations on paper and t-shirts! Not only can you learn how to screen print on site, but shoppers can also check out Candy’s sweet selection of floral and feline inspired goodies! Japanese pattered crash pad pillows, sun dresses, splashy fine art prints, and lots more candy coated goodies to inject into your domestic lifestyle.

The cobblestones of Germantown Avenue will be covered by more than 150 garden and landscape displays, restauranteurs and vendors boasting hand-made furniture, collectibles and art.

Food-wise, visitors can go the hamburger-hotdog route, or sample some of Chestnut Hill’s newer restaurants, including Mica, Thai Kuu or even a beer garden in front of Iron Hill.

Walk the Eco-Alley and survey the block of sustainable businesses peddling everything from plants to electric bikes. Peruse the Avenue’s new retail shops Indigo Schuy, Roots and Greene Street Consignment. Then smell whiffs of what’s to come: Princeton-based Greendesign and Chill on the Hill Frozen Yogurt. Don’t miss bee-hive and honey-making exhibits.

For little ones, face-painting, crafts, a rock-climbing wall and a free train ride will be available, not to mention live music for all on two stages. Children can also paint their own miniature Adirondack chair thanks to Morris Arboretum and the Woodmere Art Museum, who are partnering on an Adirondack Chair Public Art Exhibit to open on Memorial Day weekend.

And for the first time, the Venetian Social Club will sponsor a Motorcycle Show at its site at 8030 Germantown Ave. The entry fee is $10 and includes a hot dog and beverage. Entrants can compete in four categories.

The festival is a great chance to escape the hustle and bustle of Center City, and enjoy a bout of fresh spring air in beautiful Chestnut Hill.

The festival is free and $5 all-day parking is available in several of Chestnut Hill’s lots.
